Microsoft Office 2019 & Windows 10

Please note: You must have Windows 10 to install Office 2019. Do not install if you have anything older than Windows
10. Office 2019 will uninstall all of the older versions of Office since both versions in one machine will not work. You can find the Windows 10 ISO image below.

The following is the preferred method for installing MS Office on laptops and home computers.  

Go to: office365.com  

1. login with your AD credentials
2. click “Install Office” at upper right corner
3. select of Office365 apps vs Other Install options based on which version you would like to install

We recommended this method for installing MS Office on lab and office computers.

1. Contact ChemHelpDesk [at] UCSD.edu and we will send you a link for the installer.
2. Unzip the folder Office_2019_x (can be 32 or 64)
3. Open the Command Prompt (press the Windows key and search for “cmd”)
   
4. Type in "cd" and a space then drag the folder that you unzipped to the command prompt screen and press Enter
5. Type in "setup /configure configuration.xml" without quotations and click enter
6. The installation will start and will let you know once it is ready to use
7. Please be patient as the installation speed varies by the machines' hardware
