CHEM 169. Applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Chemistry and Biochemistry (4)
Dive deep into artificial intelligence (AI) for chemistry/biochemistry. The course provides students with hands-on exploration of AI methods applied to chemical and biochemical systems. Topics explored include areas like protein structure and complex prediction, Protein Language Models, and Large Language Models to accelerate research. Applications include molecular property prediction, enzyme substrate prediction, and drug discovery. Emphasis will be placed on project-based learning. May be co-scheduled with CHEM 269. Prerequisites: CHEM 114A. Recommended: Introductory course in Python programming, with a focus on the Pandas library.
